Hagerstown beat Lakewood on the strength of starting pitcher Víctor Hernández's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. By defeating Lakewood, the 6th-place Suns improved to 39-50.

It could have been a different outcome for Hagerstown, had it not been for Jorge Olvera, the 22-year old first baseman . Olvera contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Hagerstown up, 3-0.

"We did enough to win," said Olvera.
