Greensboro Defeated by Hagerstown, 8-1
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Hagerstown-Greensboro ballgame.
Behind the hitting of Ken Fox, the Hagerstown Suns stopped the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 8-1. Fox went 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 4 runs for the Suns. Hagerstown is now 29-35, Greensboro 40-24.
Gilberto Cardenas was one of the major contributors to the win for Hagerstown. The light-hitting left fielder stroked a single to right-center in the top of the second inning. For the day, he was 1-4.
Fox attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
