Hagerstown Suns right-hander Bob Johnson pitched a good game against the Lakewood BlueClaws at Municipal Stadium, leading his team to victory, 6-3. Johnson, now 1-3, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Jesús Valdéz closed the game out for Hagerstown, earning his 7th save.

The Suns got a big at-bat from shortstop Randy Williamson. For the game, Williamson went 1-4 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Hagerstown a 4-2 lead.
