Sand Gnats Top Shorebirds in Extras, 3-2

The Savannah Sand Gnats got a stellar effort from pitcher Bob Morris, helping Savannah score a win over the visiting Delmarva Shorebirds, 3-2, in 11 innings. The winner in relief was Luis Lucero. He is now 3-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Savannah has a record of 9-6.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Savannah catcher Kevin Richardson, facing Waylon Ellis, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Sand Gnats the 3-2 win.
"We did enough to win," said Richardson.
