Big Day for Anquilo in 4-2 Power Win
|
West Virginia and Delmarva took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The West Virginia Power used the hitting of center fielder Julián Anquilo to subdue the Delmarva Shorebirds, 4-2. For the game, Anquilo was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The save went to Mike James, number 2 for him.
West Virginia grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Anquilo hit a 3-run home run off Alfredo González. His 1st home run of the season put the Power out in front, 4-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Delmarva skipper Tripp Keister, "and it cost us."
So far, the 2026 season has been disappointing for Delmarva, now 4-7.
