Suns Sneak By Shorebirds, 4-3
The Hagerstown Suns and Delmarva Shorebirds rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.

The Hagerstown Suns picked up a win at Municipal Stadium, knocking off the Delmarva Shorebirds, 4-3, in 23 innings. Starting pitcher Jeremy Wilson played a key role in the triumph. Hagerstown pitcher Tommy Young got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Orazio Barrachina got the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ted Wood in the bottom of the 23rd when he hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Orazio Barrachina to win the game for Hagerstown. The home crowd went nuts.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Wood, "one at-bat at a time."

Delmarva now is 3-4.
