Bernard Joins 3-HR Club Saturday, September 5th , 2026 Jeff Bernard went yard three times in a DSL Cubs victory over the DSL Pirates at Baseball City Complex. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the DSL center fielder went 3-for-5 against DSL with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Cubs to the 12-2 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Jeff Bernard hit a solo-shot off José Soto in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off José Soto in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jesús González in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Bernard is currently hitting at a .290 pace with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 29 times. |
