Blue Jays Pitching Ravaged by Hernández Saturday, July 25th , 2026 David Hernández was at the head of a DSL hit parade at Pittsburgh Pirates Complex. The first baseman went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Pirates to a nice 13-2 victory over the DSL Blue Jays. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Hernández told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Blue Jays skipper Edwin Encarnacion said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
