Thompson Bashes 5 Base Hits Friday, August 15th , 2025 New York N (DSL) third baseman Curt Thompson had a big day at New York Mets Complex against the Cincinnati (DSL) Reds. The 25-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-8 and led to the 16-13 Mets 1 triumph over Cincinnati (DSL). "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Thompson said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Curt Thompson singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th, hit a two-run double in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
