Harris Whacks 3 out of the Park for Detroit (DSL) Sunday, August 27th , 2023 Today was a special one for Merlin Harris of the Detroit (DSL) Tigers as he slammed three home runs in the 15-1 win over the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Detroit (DSL) left fielder collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 4 runs in the contest at Detroit Tigers Complex. Merlin Harris hit a solo-shot off Jerry Jennings in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ben Ramsey in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Eric Couch in the 8th. Harris is currently batting .422 with 20 home runs and 39 RBIs. |
