O'Connoly Hitless, Stopped by Reds Thursday, August 25th , 2022 The hitting streak that Houston 2 (DSL) third baseman Zak O'Connoly had kept going for 20 games was ended today by the Cincinnati (DSL) Reds. O'Connoly was stymied over 4 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 10-3 victory at Houston Astros Blue. "Hitting streaks come and go," O'Connoly said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." In 51 games this season O'Connoly has compiled a .340 batting average with 68 hits and 2 home runs. He has also scored 42 times and knocked in 24 runs. |
