Armitage Has 25-Game Hitting Streak
Sunday, August 24th , 2025
The Chicago N (AZL) Cubs may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 9-5, to the Cleveland (AZL) Guardians, but Norm Armitage continued to hit like a god.
The center fielder collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 25 games.
"Armitage is playing great and is on fire right now," Cubs manager Steve Fisher said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Armitage was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Norm Armitage hit a solo-shot off Ron Hatfield in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, walked in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and struck out in the 9th.
This year, Armitage has hit 8 home runs and posted a .298 batting average.
