Bennett Strokes 5 Hits Monday, July 13th , 2026 A jubilant Jeremy Bennett joined the postgame press conference at Grayson Stadium to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Savannah Sand Gnats pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Augusta GreenJackets shortstop, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 10-9 GreenJackets win. "He made it look easy," said Tyler Colvin, manager of the Sand Gnats. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Jeremy Bennett grounded out in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
