Savannah-West Virginia Fight Results in Suspensions Tuesday, August 26th , 2025 Yesterday at Appalachian Power Park Steve Rose and Alex West got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Savannah Sand Gnats and West Virginia Power. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Rose will have to sit out 3 while West would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Rose is hitting at a .370 mark this season. His stats show 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has played 6 games for the Sand Gnats. |
