#1 Skipper in SAL: Kiefer of Savannah Friday, October 6th , 2023 A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of Steve Kiefer, he seems to have taken the Savannah Sand Gnats to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the South Atlantic League for leading the team to a very rewarding season. "Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way." Kiefer led Savannah to a first place finish in the Southern Division. The Sand Gnats ended up with a 89-49 record. |
