Sand Gnats Spellbound, Foxworthy Hurls No-Hitter Monday, September 4th , 2023 Joey Foxworthy of the Rome Firebirds was the King of the Hill today at Grayson Stadium. The Rome starter dominated the Savannah Sand Gnats, giving up zero hits in his 3-0 victory. "The toughest part was the last couple of innings," Foxworthy recounted after the game. "You know you have a no-hitter going, and so does everybody in the ballpark. That was the hard part, keeping focused and concentrating while your heart is pounding." Foxworthy recorded 10 strikeouts and 2 walks in the game. Foxworthy has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 13-3 record with a 1.70 ERA.
