Herrera Raps 3 HR Against LumberKings Monday, July 20th , 2026 Lake County Captains right fielder António Herrera sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Clinton LumberKings, Herrera told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Herrera pushed the Captains past the LumberKings, 11-3. To go along with the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Herrera told reporters after the game. António Herrera walked in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Robinson Martínez in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ernie Cahill in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ernie Cahill in the 8th. At the moment, Herrera is hitting .307 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs. He has played in 79 games and scored 57 times. |
