Tim Paul was a calming influence out of the Cedar Rapids Kernels bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 24-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Midwest League Reliever of the Year for 2025.

The Chesapeake, Virginia native won the award with 19 saves in 46 relief appearances, 51 strikeouts in 43.1 innings and a record of 1-2 to go with his 1.45 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 16. Chris Whittemore of the West Michigan Whitecaps finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Sergio Guzmán of the Fort Wayne TinCaps finished third.
