Peoria Stymied by Hoskins Sunday, August 31st , 2025 Burlington hurler Derek Hoskins put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Peoria Chiefs with a 1-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 1 hit with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk to pick up the win. "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Peoria manager Phil Nevin told reporters after the game. Hoskins has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 6-7 record with a 4.14 ERA.
