Collins Silences Lake County, 7-0 Saturday, August 9th , 2025 Lansing Lugnuts starter Steve Collins really did a number on the Lake County Captains, shutting them out, 7-0, on 7 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 2 walks and had 6 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Lake County manager David Peralta. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Collins." Up to now Collins has compiled an ERA of 4.64 with a 9-9 mark over 27 starts. He has 159 strikeouts in 170.2 innings and has held opponents to a .302 batting average. View Boxscore |
