MID Top Batter Trophy Won by Newton Friday, August 1st , 2025 Eric Newton is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Quad Cities center fielder joined that select company when the Midwest League announced the results of July's voting. Newton totaled 33 hits, 12 walks, 10 home runs, 24 RBIs and 23 runs scored last month to put together a .297 batting average and .366 on-base percentage. This season, Newton is swinging the bat at a .272 rate with 102 hits in 375 at-bats. To date he has hit 19 home runs, scored 58 runs and driven in 64. |
