Thompson Belts Bunch of Base Hits Thursday, July 23rd , 2026 Curt Thompson of the Mets was unstoppable in his team's 10-9 victory over the Fort Myers Miracle at Hammond Stadium. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Boy, I was on the mark today," said the St. Lucie third baseman after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will." Curt Thompson singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Eric Mayfield in the 6th, flied out in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
