Ramírez Tops All, Wins FSL Most Valuable Player Award
Wednesday, October 8th , 2025
The best could still be yet to come for Albert Ramírez of the Lakeland Flying Tigers, and that's the scary part.
At the age of only 21, the ace pitcher has accomplished a major feat, being named the 2025 Florida State League Most Valuable Player Award winner.
His breakthrough campaign saw him put up a 11-7 record, while pitching 155.1 innings, with 130 strikeouts and 30 walks, for a 2.32 ERA. Ramírez was tough on hitters all season long, as they only put up a .258 batting average against him.
"I had a lot of fun this season," the young talent said.
He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 12. José González of the Charlotte Stone Crabs finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Dan Stevenson of the Charlotte Stone Crabs finished third.
