At Bright House Field, Deason showed how well he learned that lesson. The 23-year-old catcher had 5 hits in 7 at-bats for the St. Lucie Mets, helping his team knock off the Clearwater Threshers by a score of 12-10. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Shawn Deason struck out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, doubled in the 9th, flied out in the 10th and singled in the 13th.
