Red-Hot Nelson Scorches Pelicans Sunday, September 6th , 2026 Lynchburg first baseman Brit Nelson had a day to remember, 6-for-10 against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Ed Smith Stadium as the Hillcats picked up a win, 7-6. "He was patient up there," Lynchburg skipper Nick Markakis told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Nelson has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Brit Nelson singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, struck out in the 9th, doubled in the 12th, flied out in the 14th, flied out in the 16th and hit a solo-shot off Alfredo Limón in the 18th.
