Blaze Advance to Round 2 Sunday, September 13th , 2026 Tony Riggs has led his Bakersfield Blaze to a Round 1 victory. Bakersfield's second baseman was named series MVP after playing an instrumental role in winning the series 3-1 and eliminating the San Jose Giants. "See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "It's simple what I did this series." The club advanced to the Round 2 with a 9-8 triumph at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark in the deciding game. Riggs was red hot in the series, which saw him put up a .438 average, as well as 0 home runs and 7 RBI. The Bakersfield Blaze will play against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the next round.
