Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Bob Morris of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes had one of those moments when he went 5-for-9 at the plate in his team's 14-8 win over the Lancaster JetHawks at The Hanger.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 22-year-old center fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Bob Morris walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, grounded out in the 14th, flied out in the 16th and hit an RBI single in the 17th.
Looking at his stats this year, Morris has compiled a .286 batting average, while hitting no home runs and driving in 7 runs. He has played in 23 games and scored 12 runs.
