League Issues Ramírez 4-Game Suspension
Thursday, August 14th , 2025
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes first baseman Víctor Ramírez received a 4-game suspension from the league office after he was ejected from a game with the High Desert Mavericks recently.

"I knew I probably was going to be suspended," said Ramírez. "We just didn't know how many games. I ain't really surprised about the suspension. What I did was wrong. You never get into it with an umpire like that. Something bad is going to happen, probably a suspension. I just hate it had to come to that."

Ramírez was ejected when he complained bitterly about a called third strike. Ramírez was called out by the home plate umpire. He immediately spun around and stared at the ump and then used both hands to throw his helmet to the ground. At that point, Ramírez was ejected. By that time his third base coach and manager had gotten between the pair. Then Ramírez climbed on the back of his coach trying to reach the umpire. After tussling with him, both men got the irate player calmed down and under control and got him to go back to the dugout and to leave the premises.

Ramírez is currently hitting at a .260 pace with 9 home runs and 53 RBIs. He has played in 91 games and scored 44 times.
