On a Roll: Gómez Hits for Cycle Sunday, August 3rd , 2025 At Recreation Park, José Gómez led Visalia to a win, 12-4, over the Stockton Ports by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats. "Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Gómez said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases." In addition to going 5-for-6, Gómez chalked up 5 RBI and scored 1 run in an exceptional performance. José Gómez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dave Wood in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run triple in the 8th.
