Monday, July 21st , 2025
Ron Porter punished the Bakersfield Blaze, leading the Rawhide to a win, 9-7. In doing so, Porter hit for the cycle, tagging the Blaze for 4 hits in 5 at-bats.
A player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game is one of the more unusual feats in professional baseball and typically happens only a couple times per season.
"Well, I didn't expect that to happen," the Visalia center fielder said after the game. "I got some great pitches and I hit their mistakes."
Porter also had 1 run batted in and 4 runs scored in the game at Recreation Park.
Ron Porter grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Joey Corbett in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
In his season totals Porter has 8 home runs and a .292 batting average.
