Craig Shuts Out Bowie
Wednesday, July 22nd , 2026
The Bowie Baysox manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Binghamton Mets. The Baysox were overpowered by Binghamton starter Monte Craig, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Jack McDowell said.
Over 5 innings, Craig blanked Bowie on 1 hit with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Craig said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
In 12 starts this year, Craig has recorded a 5-3 record and a 3.27 ERA.
