Peterson Gives Albuquerque Goose Eggs Sunday, July 13th , 2025 Iowa Cubs starter Virgil Peterson really did a number on the Albuquerque Isotopes, shutting them out, 12-0, on 6 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 3 walks and had 7 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Albuquerque manager Matt Merullo. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Peterson."
