The Burlington Bees withstood a fine game by Quad Cities first baseman Gunnar Cahill at Modern Woodmen Park, to upend the River Bandits, 6-5. Cahill hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. With the win, Burlington pushed its record to 65-47.

Burlington needed the clutch hitting of Claude Palma to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Bees on top, 6-5. For the game, Palma had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Danny Valencia, the Burlington skipper.
