The Lake County Captains topped the South Bend Cubs, 7-5, in Midwest League action at Classic Park. The standout performance belonged to Lake County pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Myron Clark. Clark picked up the win for Lake County, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-10. José Jiménez recorded the save, making him 14 for 15.

Chris Kimsey had a big bases-clearing double for the Captains in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Lake County leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a splitter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Marcus Kerklaan and swatted a double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 4-0.

"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Clark.

With the win, Lake County raised its record to 57-52.
