Joe Holmes pitched a dandy of a game to help the Quad Cities River Bandits beat the Clinton LumberKings, 5-0. Holmes picked up the win for Quad Cities, going 8.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The win for the River Bandits raised their record to 54-52.

It could have been a different outcome for Quad Cities, had it not been for Chris López, the 25-year old right fielder . López contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Quad Cities up, 2-0.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Quad Cities manager Takanobu Sato.
