South Bend and Lansing took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Lansing Lugnuts got a sterling performance from pitcher Ken Jenkins, but the South Bend Cubs still prevailed, 5-4. Jenkins threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Jeremy Olsen snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-2 on the season. Dave Salazar suffered the loss. Earning the save was Artie Maddox. He's now cashed in 8 of 11 save opportunities.

Zach Kennedy, who is tied for 8th in the MID in bases on balls with 47, helped out the South Bend cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3.

Kennedy told a South Bend Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

South Bend now has a record of 54-48 with the win.
