Cubs Send Clinton Home with 12-7 Loss
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium.

The 12-7 South Bend win over Clinton was due in large part to José Bernal. The Cubs third baseman was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI. António Salazar earned his 1st save in 1 chances.

In the bottom of the first, Ron McIntosh delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the South Bend catcher hit a 2-run single, putting the Cubs in front, 12-7.

"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Bernal.

The Cubs sport a record of 39-59.
