Captains Strike Down Timber Rattlers, 12-2
The 12-2 Lake County win over Wisconsin was due largely to Brit Nelson. The Captains first baseman went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the win, Lake County raised its record to 50-47.

Brad Robinson had a big 2-run double for the Captains in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Lake County leading 4-2 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Ed Brown and swatted a double to right. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 6-2.

In postgame comments to the Lake County Citizen, Nelson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
