Captains Send Clinton Home with 5-2 Loss
The Lake County Captains rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Mike Tyler to a win, beating the Clinton LumberKings, 5-2, at Classic Park. Tyler yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. The win elevated the Captains to 51-44.

Donnie Robinson had a big run-scoring double for the Captains in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Lake County leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Stan Valentine, who is tied for 9th in the MID in quality starts with 11, and swatted a double to right. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 3-1.

"I felt like I had pretty good command of mostly everything," said Tyler.
