The Fort Wayne TinCaps wanted a good start from José Aloniz -- and he delivered one. The result was a 3-1 Fort Wayne win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Neuroscience Feild at Fox Cities Stadium. In 5.1 innings, Aloniz surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The TinCaps go to 19-71 with the win.
Fort Wayne used a well-timed hit by Eric MacIntyre to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the TinCaps ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said TinCaps manager Yunir Garcia, "I like our chances."
