The Peoria Chiefs beat the South Bend Cubs, 5-4, at Dozer Park. The win was due in part to designated hitter Gil Guistiniani, who went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. The 7th-place Cubs have lost 4 consecutive games.
