Quad Cities picked up a win at Philip B. Elfstrom Stadium, bumping off the Kane County Cougars, 4-2. Pitcher Jorge Martínez was a major reason the River Bandits emerged victorious. Martínez got the win, improving to 8-6. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Bob Barraclough recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 19 for 23.

Quad Cities used a clutch at-bat from Héctor Rivera to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the River Bandits ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I'm happy we won," said Martínez. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
