Cubs Lose Again, 4-2, to Whitecaps
Rinaldo Saro, who is tied for 5th in the MID in innings pitched with 99.0, pitched well, but the South Bend Cubs still fell short, losing, 4-2, to the West Michigan Whitecaps at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium. The Whitecaps have an impressive 57-18 record.

The Whitecaps had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 4-2, West Michigan, with no one out. South Bend, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Norm Armitage dug in at the plate, but on a 0-2 fastball, he struck out.
