Valdéz Torches LumberKings for 5 Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Wisconsin's 12-5 victory over the Clinton LumberKings, second baseman Enrico Valdéz told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Midwest League-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at Alliant Energy Field with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the LumberKings.

"His swing is getting there," said Timber Rattlers skipper Matt Walbeck, who spoke glowingly of Valdéz after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Enrico did that to perfection."

Enrico Valdéz singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

In the 2025 season Valdéz is hitting .277 with no home runs.
