Both teams had their chances, but the Fort Wayne TinCaps eventually prevailed.

The Fort Wayne TinCaps did just enough to sneak past the Dayton Dragons, 7-6, at Parkview Field. Fort Wayne pitcher José Hernández, in particular, had a standout performance. Fort Wayne reliever Tim Roberts was the winner. His record is now 6-0. Ron Brooks took the loss.

Oscar Jenkins was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Fort Wayne. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ron Brooks. It was his 8th walk of the season.

"José was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Fort Wayne manager Yunir Garcia.

The TinCaps, at 37-37, inhabit 4th place in the Eastern Division.
