Kane County Keeps Spiraling Downward
|
Kane County had no answer for Burlington Bees hurler Juan Romano, who overwhelmed Cougars hitters as the Bees coasted to victory, 7-1. Romano picked up the win for Burlington, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. The misery continues for the Cougars, who have now dropped 12 in a row.
The Bees got a big at-bat from catcher Nate Shaw. For the game, Shaw went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Burlington a 4-1 lead.
"We just can't get over the hump," said losing manager .
