Kane County Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
The Burlington Bees topped the Kane County Cougars, 9-4, with youngster Eric Thomas playing a key role. Thomas went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Bees in the win. With the win, Burlington pushed its record to 39-32.
With Burlington trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Thomas hit a 2-run single off Kane County hurler José Ortíz. It was the 82nd hit of the season for Thomas and put his team ahead, 5-4.
"Losing makes me cranky," said Kane County manager . "And right now there's a big black storm cloud above my head."
