The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The inspired effort of Kane County first baseman Eric Stanley was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Quad Cities River Bandits. Stanley was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. Bob Barraclough nailed down his 13th save.
Quad Cities took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when Juan Salas hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the River Bandits in front, 6-5.
"We've hit a lull," said Kane County manager .
The slumping Cougars have dropped 6 in a row.
