The Quad Cities River Bandits stormed past the Kane County Cougars, 12-3, at Modern Woodmen Park. Quad Cities designated hitterPat Anderson led the hit parade. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The River Bandits, now 34-31, have won 7 in a row.

Luis Villarreal had a big 2-run double for the River Bandits in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Quad Cities leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Oliver Salcido and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the River Bandits ahead, 5-2.

Afterward, Kane County manager said: "We've hit a rough patch."
