Carlson Cracks 5 Hits
Bret Carlson put on a hitting clinic as the Lake County Captains dumped the West Michigan Whitecaps, 13-2, at Classic Park.

The Lake County shortstop made West Michigan defenders earn their pay, lashing West Michigan pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Carlson said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Bret Carlson singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
